Hotel Nikko San Francisco
Hotel Nikko San Francisco is part of a globally respected Japanese hospitality brand, known for its balance of precision, restraint, and refined service. The challenge was to elevate the hotel’s presence within a competitive urban market while communicating an experience that felt distinctly different from a typical San Francisco stay.
The objective was to spark the imagination—positioning a stay at Hotel Nikko as a journey in itself. Guided by the theme “Travel to a Different Place,” the creative approach invited guests to experience a sense of cultural transport: a serene, design-forward retreat inspired by the timeless principles of Japanese hospitality, set in the heart of the city.
Print and digital executions were crafted to be striking yet ethereal, using optical illusion and visual tension to capture attention and create intrigue. The work avoided literal depictions of the hotel, instead suggesting mood, atmosphere, and transition—allowing viewers to feel the experience before arriving.
The result was a campaign that reinforced Hotel Nikko’s unique positioning: a sanctuary where contemporary elegance, thoughtful design, and curated experiences converge—offering travelers a refined escape within San Francisco, and the feeling of being somewhere entirely else.
All campaign imagery was created through art direction, photography, and compositing — produced entirely before AI image generation existed.
